for the first time in years, i was on the verge of tears because of frustration.
MY DAY:
i got done with my final today and everything was going according to plan. I was super excited that i'd get to be home by the end of the day. THEN HELL FROZE OVER AND EARTH DECIDED IT WOULD FOLLOW SUIT.
i'm stuck in white-trash elmira, NY until tomorrow night at 6. I'm going to hang out all day tomorrow and try to get on a flight as a standby.
i just really REALLY want to come home.
i think that its really weird that the first few days of my time in NY and my last few days are pretty much the same. just in different seasons. |

this birthday SO outdid last year's.
I got to sleep in. Best birthday present to myself.
I went to the best thai in town for a surprise dinner with fun people from work.
we went to work to get something to drink afterward and apparently someone pulled the fire alarm, so we waited outside and a big group of people sang me happy birthday.
Then I got to see QUANTUM OF SOLACE! It wasn't a great film but I love me some Daniel Craig. (for those of you who don't know, he's my go-gay celebrity)
Came back and watched A Might Wind which I'd never seen before. RUL funny.
And i got to sleep in today! |

ugh.
i want to be home SO BAD.
these past few months seemed to fly by but now with less than two weeks left, i can't manage myself. i think about it constantly which makes it even longer. BAH!
i'm so frustrated.
my head is swimming with thoughts of everything i want to do when i'm home. i almost forgot that this saturday is my birthday, so lately i've been trying to focus on that because it might turn out to be a good one this year but then I JUST START THINKING OF BEING HOME. AGAIN.
if any of you have any techniques for ridding the home-stretch anticipatory infection, let me know. i need the remedy!
caitlin! cupcakes! nicole! chillaxin'! finally! taylor! catchin' up! kayla! ditto! everyone else i'm forgetting! see you around? |

this is really odd.
i cannot decide how i feel about the election.
on one side, it is absolutely incredible that an african american has become our nation's president. it definitely proves our country is moving out of that lousy time in our history.
on the other side. i think that fact that he is black has played a far more important role than it should. the whole point is that everyone is equal, so the election should be focusing on the man and his issues not the man and his ethnicity.
i disagree with obama's fiscal policy and a lot of his social policy. i disagree with mccain's stance on the war and foreign policy.
i don't like the republican candidate or the democratic candidate.
obama is sticking around but mccain very well could have died in office leaving the country in the hands of Mme Palin. not ok.
even after the election, i'm just really torn/confused.
in other news, i've researched other political parties and have come to find that i agree with almost everything that the libertarian party stands for. so if you've considered me to be a republican which i know most of you have, i now align myself with the lp. for some reason this is a really big deal for me. i've always considered myself a quasi-republican but now i feel like i've grown out of it. may not be at all interesting to you folks, but i felt like this info was post worthy.
if you want to respond, i'd love to discuss all of this. i haven't really been able to talk about it with a lot of people? |

I am so freaking excited for new york. it's almost unbearable.
i forgot that there is a massive disney store in close proximity to central park. caitlin, i hope you know we're going. to both places that is.
really weird comparison but i feel like leisel in the sound of music after she runs back from the rain and makes that screeching noise? like, you can tell in the music that she's stirred to do something but it just kind of surprises you when she channels the banshees. i kinda feel like that...? |

1) Booking transportation to New York City. Actually really exciting. 2) Studying for World Archaeology exam. Not so much. 3) Mastering the "I Hope I Get It" routine for my cabaret. 4) Work
and that's about it.
i'll keep everyone posted if anything new pops up. i really doubt that will be soon! CATCH Y'ALL LATA! |

this friday is turning out to be the best day ever!
1) First class of the day is canceled 2) Second class, let out half an our early. 3) World Archaeology's discussion of the day was on a species of human informally called the real-life hobbits who hunted small elephants and giant rats. 4) Psychology. We'll be discussing pregnancy and the birthing process, two topics i'm pretty knowledgable about considering what my mom does for a living. 5) Last class of the day is canceled. 6) I don't have to work. 7) I finally have time to work out. 8) I get to see Repo! The Genetic Opera today even though its release date is in November. 9) It's a FRIDAY!
I could probably keep going but still. effing T!G!I!F! best acronym eva. thank you 1990's and the american broadcasting company.
I'M OFF TO CONQUER THE WORLD! |

i'm putting off studying and have decided to update everyone. on my life. in college.
my apartment situation is going really well. everyone is really nice and we all get along. though there are some things that could possibly go awry. namely my roommate's cleaning habits and my nonexistent ones. Anywho... classes are nice. they are all gen eds and they're pretty spread out through the week. all of them are lectures which basically means you do work and you're fine, you don't study and you fail. which i guess goes for any class in higher education. yeah. friends. i have made some. none of them come close to the people back at home and i really can't unleash myself on them yet because they would just immediately forget the loony they kinda knew from washington. i absolutely cannot WAIT to come back home and see everyone. best thanksgiving ever.
and nicole and took my love note with me and it is in my room.
and if anyone is bored CALL ME! I ALWAYS HAVE TIME FOR MY PEEPS! |

running. used to be absolute mood-ruiner and all around crappy hobby.
BUT.
i can't stop. it is the funnest thing to run around the forest listening to uptempo beats and rockin' the sweat.
and seriously, the creation of sliding shorts is god's gift to man. sorry ladies. they are my savior from the evils of chafe and supporter of all things masculine.
probably too much info. lest you guys forget, i spawn from the male species. GO SHORTS! |

The Roommates:
PHIL- Senior, unceasingly talks about the female race and certain qualities that pertain to that specific half of humanity.
JOE- Favorite book: "more guns, less violence" Favorite t-shirt: portrait of an eagle perched on a motorcycle with the watermark of the american flag and the words "freedom" and "pride" on the bottom. Fashion guru that one.
MARC- Silent until some event occurs in the ESPN realm and he FLIPS OUT.
AARON- Really nice fatherly guy. you'd have to encounter him to get it.
MATT- He arrives tomorrow.
i think i've found my niche? |

I DON'T UNDERSTAND!
against all odds, i'm given the opportunity to attend a school in New York and study with a killer theatre program and have so many doors open but all i REALLY want to do is be back. I'm assuming that it's just because it is the first week in an unfamiliar place but i don't remember whitworth being like this. i would really love to enjoy my new surroundings and the new people i'm going to encounter i just can't get over how much i'm going to miss my family and my friends and comfort in general. It is the adult version of going off to camp. |
